Motor Officer Critically Injured

An El Paso Police Department motorcycle officer was critically injured on Thursday morning, May 23, 2019, after he was hit and run over by a driver who cut through a funeral procession the officer was escorting.

FBI Releases LEOKA Statistics For 2018

The Texas Department of Transportation is launching their annual Click It or Ticket Campaign on Wednesday, May 8, to reduce the number of drivers and passengers who are killed or seriously injured because they’re not buckled up. According to TxDOT, wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of dying in a crash by 45% in a passenger vehicle, and up to 60% in a pickup truck.

FBI Reports Overall Crime Declined In First Half Of 2018

The FBI released their Preliminary Semiannual Crime Statistics for 2018 on Monday, reporting an overall crime decline during the first half of last year. The report shows a decline in both violent crime and property crime in 2018 when compared to stats from the first half of 2017. Nearly all offenses in the violent category declined. Robbery decreased by 12.

Dozens of kids showed up to hear officers read and they were joined by McGruff the crime dog.
